About Matt
My career was built by helping organizations make things happen. I’ve worked in newsrooms, startups, public companies, museums, and local businesses. Along the way I’ve served as a marketer, producer, salesperson, and leader.
It’s far less random than it looks.
A startup that grew its revenue from under a million to eight. A conference hosted for thousands of local students. An art museum. A research program. A local business finding momentum.
Different projects. Same reasons I was there.
Before the launch, before the campaign, before anyone else sees it, there’s a handful of people around a table with an idea. That’s where I’m at my best: helping a good idea find its way into the world.
A Little More About Me
I’m a Ventura County, California native and a graduate of the USC School of Cinematic Arts. I spent years helping build startups before leading marketing for IZEA, a publicly traded creator marketing company.
Outside of work, I’m a husband and dad of three. I’m usually found coaching or watching sports, looking for the next card to add to my collection, or off on another adventure with my family around Southern California.

2,000 Kids, 40 Exams, and a Broken Scantron Machine
For six years, I volunteered as the Section Director for Gold Coast FBLA. The biggest event each year was a one-day conference for two thousand students, and I was the one holding the whole thing together.

Turning a Taco Bell Into a Regional Art Museum
I won a signed print from an upstart local art museum, went to pick it up, and left as its head of marketing. Over the next five years, that turned into exhibit launches, virtual galleries, and a lot of fun little projects nobody had a playbook for.

How I Made "Hard Knocks" for High School Football
I wanted to make a "Hard Knocks" for local high school football. The only problem was that I worked in advertising, not the newsroom. So we built a sponsorship that gave me another way in.
